Do your kids love science?

Mine do. And lucky for us so does the Provo City Library.

Tonight is a FREE program for families called

"Mad Science"

It is a lot of fun!!! We went last time they did it and my kids LOVED it!
I don't know if it will be the same thing, but it should be at least similar. They did cool experiments and talked about science terminology.

If you're interested....

go to the Provo City Library ballroom TONIGHT,
Monday the 28th from 7:30 - 8:00.

(Actually, I would get there a little early to get a good seat.)

Growing up

I walked in to find this....

{notice the bubbles under his arms}

Then I heard this...

(in a very funny, growly voice)

"Ahhhhhhh! I'm a man! I have armpit hair!!!!"

Apparently, that is something to look forward to.

What happened to the days when kids innocently pretended to just have beards and pretended to shave with a spoon?

This, while not being quite as sweet and nostalgic,...

was very funny!!!

Max and his new/old arm

1 September, 2009

Max got his cast off.

It was only the second day of school (of kindergarten), but he had to miss for this very important moment.

Here goes the special saw....

She then used some clamps to pry it open and then some scissors to finish cutting the inner material.
(I've never seen this before!)

Here's the new/old arm all healed and ready to get back to playing!

It was funny, but it took him awhile to get used to using it again. For the first few hours, he let it hang to his side and continued trying to do everything with only one arm. I'm sure it felt strange to worry about the extra limb again.

But, he has adjusted just fine and everything looks great!

Way to go Max!!!

One broken bone down.....

how many more to go???!!!!!

Warning....I have a lot of catching up to do

So, just know that you will be seeing and reading a lot of old news, but I need to put it on here for my sake.

Just don't say I didn't warn you.

We've had a small tragedy....

My house exploded.

I'm pretty sure of it.

I don't remember when it happened, or how exactly, but I'm sure it happened.

Somehow I survived it and am still alive, but my house unfortunately did not.

I can't think of any other explanation for what I see.

It must have been a bomb.

Sorry house.

One of those....weeks

It has been one of those weeks.

Lots of chaos.

Lots of stress.

Lots of bad luck.

And then I saw this.......

If this doesn't make you happy...

Nothing will.

She is such a character!

Have you ever wanted to be perfect, but you just can't?

I haven't.

PERFECTION

Okay, I was totally lying!!!!

I just stumbled on this article here and I had to share.

It's called "How to be Disorganized and Unproductive: Aim for Perfection."

So much of what she said I chuckled at, took a heavy breath, and nodded my head in agreement. I'm not saying that I leave my dishes sitting because I can't make my kitchen look exactly the way I want it to, but I have had a few moments when I feel like no matter how much I do, it won't ever be perfect and I feel overwhelmed.

(To all of you who know me, stop laughing right now!!!)

I admit it.
I sometimes have a desire to do things perfectly and yet I completely recognize that I can't.
Some days I handle that inability to be perfect, better than others.

Anyway,....in case any of you reading this EVER have those thoughts, {you know who you are} you might want to read this article. I really liked it.

For those of you who don't ever have those thoughts,...well,....I guess you're already perfect! :)

[If you haven't checked out this blog, you should. She's got some great stuff.]
