Max and his broken arm

Yesterday, after running to Costco, Max was climbing over the back seat of the van and into the cargo area. I heard a thump and some crying and then saw him holding up his arm looking like this....

YIKES!

He said "I think I broke my arm."
I looked back at him and sure enough his arm was definitely broken.

I've never broken a bone, so I had no idea what to do or what he was feeling, but I felt awful for him.

As I clamored around trying to figure out what to do (go the Dr. or the ER), he was so brave and so tough. He just sat kind of crying and saying he wanted to bend it back. Just the sight of it was giving me the heebie jeebies!

I quickly put everyone back in the car and raced over to the Dr.'s office.
We were then sent for x-rays and then off to the Orthopedic.

Luckily, they were able to fix it, but it had been several hours by that time.

He was so brave and so tough. I wanted to just outright cry, and I may have a little, but I was afraid I'd scare him even more.

They had to put him under in order to reset his arm.
Turns out he broke both bones in the arm, but they went back together brilliantly.
He will get his cast next week.

Thank goodness for modern medicine and doctors who know what to do so that my child wasn't just left with a babbling, bumbling mother trying to figure it out.

Way to go Max!!
We are so proud of you for being so tough and so brave!!!

For the Love of Chocolate

Liam had his first taste of chocolate.

I'm not sure, but I'm thinking he must have loved it.

He looks pretty happy......

Yep. I'd say he likes it alright!
