SNAIL???!!!!!!!!
Max was playing outside and found a snail and decided it would be his pet.
He later found a second snail and named it Gary.
So, we now have two pet snails named Larry and Gary.
He has taken very good care of them. He even told me when they were taking a nap.
And to make things really interesting he took them in the car with us to drop Anders off to school (unbeknownst to me) and was in the back saying...."Oh. It's all bubbly."
I looked back to see him blowing the bubbles of foaming slime off of his pet snail out onto the floor of the carpet.
I don't however know if it was Larry or if it was Gary.
Note to self {and spousal unit}: Must buy him a real pet -- like a dog.

Love Larry & Gary!
Oh & he might have been foaming because of all that salt you pour on your fries in the car. :)
Hey! Zip it Heidi! Now everyone knows I eat fries -- and salty ones at that.
P.S. No snails were harmed in the making of this post.
They are happily settled in a jar with dirt, some leaves, and holes in the lid that Max punched with a screwdriver.
They are currently sitting on top of my stove. I know.
Oooohhh...I just had a though. Escargot anyone?
Ewww, that's pretty sad. What kind of mother are you? Buy your son a pet already... (but please don't mention that I am also neglecting to provide a suitable pet for my own children) I might need to go find a snail or two for my kids. Do Larry and Gary have any cousins? Are you sure Gary is not Carrie? Then we could have some baby snails.
I currently have 10 animals in my house and not one is a snail, BUT you can bet that my boys would LOVE to add Gary and Larry to their pet collection. Snails have something exciting to little boys that is much better than dogs, fish, hamsters, or birds (which we currently have:)
Robyn,
If I remember correctly, snails are...."special" creatures and Gary could in fact turn into Carrie. So, you're in luck. :)
HA HA HA!!! That is so cute and your friends and so funny! I love it!
I dunno, pet snails are sounding pretty nice. No poop to clean up and no expensive 50 lb bags of dog food to lug home from Costco...
I'm just laughing at this whole thing. Max looks so proud!
Now that is a true boy. Nasty! I love it.
Max should come visit our "real" pet, Ignacius Malone (known as I Malone for short), our aquatic snail who is left all alone after our fish all died. He actually does a great job of cleaning the bowl. We never even feed him. Now, that's my kind of pet!
So great. We have snails all over my house, and I told Elsa she would get sick if she touched them. Otherwise we would have a house full of snails right now. I'm such a mean mom. I love Larry and Gary and that you allowed them in your home.
